I’ve recently begun using RSS and ATOM feeds heavily to keep track of all of the content I care about on the web. The problem with that is that when a content source you care about doesn’t offer a feed, you have to kludge one together yourself. Below are feeds I created for that reason.

“Brain Damage” was a two hour call-in show hosted by Emmanuel Goldstein, the editor and publisher of 2600 Magazine, using his real name of Eric Corley, which aired on WUSB 90.1 FM at the State University of New York at Stony Brook. The show ran from 1988 to 1995 and covered both serious and funny, technical and nontechnical topics.
From the show’s website:

Favorite regular features included Confuse The Operator, highlights from Radio Moscow, and a reading of the lunch menu by the university lunch lady. Callers contributed their over-the-phone songs, stories of their lives, and features such as the “Math Teacher Spy.”

There are three feeds below. In the later years of the show, Eric was more frequently unable to host the show, and it was hosted by a variety of guest hosts, the most frequent of which being Matt. The show’s website has the shows split into sections for Eric’s hosted shows and Matt’s shows. I’ve done the same, but also created a feed that contains all of the shows, including the reunion special that aired to mark the station’s 25th anniversary in 2002.

So I finally broke down and installed a CMS for my domain. Don’t expect a blog here though, in the traditional sense (I won’t be showing off any pictures of cats), but rather, I just figured this would be the easiest way of setting up pages to detail, document, and write about the small miscellaneous projects I’m working on. I’ll use a consistent tag for each project and I’ll instantly have a website for that project. Using software like wordpress will let me spend more time on the actual project and not setting up a project website. Until I get some time to work on that actual content though, this post will have to do…
